Council is an enabler of economic development. It can do this through increasing the supply of light industrial zoning in the district and encouraging private developers to bring jobs home – a double win as people can work closer to home and reduce emissions driving to work in Tauranga.
Council must support our key horticulture industry by making it easier for packhouses to find accommodation for the big bulge in temporary staff over the peak season.
